Minutes of the 55th Annual Gathering of Lodges named St. Albans 
hosted  by Mount Forest Lodge No. 200, Ont., Canada, August. 29th, 30th and 31st ,  2008.

Friday, August 29th - Registration and reception were held at the Holiday Inn 601 Scottsdale Drive, Guelph, Ontario.
Saturday, August 30th - The general committee meeting was convened at 10:00 a.m.   The Chairman, R.W. Bro. John Clyburn welcomed everyone.   Co-Chairman, R.W. Bro. Roy Harrison gave the Invocation.   Brother Hans Huth, representing our newest member Lodge, Hoya  #150A of Hoya/Wesser Germany, was welcomed.  Brother Huth expressed his pleasure in being present and assured us he would make a favorable report to his home Lodge.  Also present for the first time were  Brothers Phil Jackson and Jimmy Schwartz, representing member Lodges in New Zealand and Louisiana, respectively.
A request was made for the minutes for 2006 to be adopted as distributed by post and email.  So Moved, seconded and adopted.

Proceedings for 2007

 

· As mentioned in the 2006 Minutes, the directory of Lodge Contacts is now on a two-name per Lodge basis.

· The Secretary received a cheque in the amount of $ 550.00 US. for his fund.

· The website cost has been paid by  St. Alban Universal for two years.

· Wor. Bro. E. Roy Harrison proposed the following “Notice of Motion”

            “ I move or cause to be moved that at the 2008 Gathering that our name be changed to “The International Gathering of             Masonic Lodges Named St. Alban”.  A vote will be taken at that time.  The meeting closed at 11: 15 a.m.

· The meeting closed at 11:15 a.m.

 

Saturday afternoon:  - Luncheon at 12:00 p.m. in the Temple, followed by a Lodge meeting in which an Entered Apprentice degree

Was conferred… Pennsylvania style.

Banquet - 7:00 p.m. - 9:00 p.m. followed by big band dancing.  There were 118 attendees.

 

Sunday:  Breakfast and fond farewells 6:30 a.m. to 9:00 a.m.
